Echidna was the female Witch of Greed, born a Witch four centuries ago. Defined by insatiable thirst for knowledge, she created the artificial spirits Puck and Beatrice, mentored Roswaal and Aldebaran, and preserved the souls of the other Witches in her Castle of Dreams. She presents with soft intellectual politeness, yet beneath is a sociopath incapable of understanding love due to a childhood steeped only in contempt. She became fascinated by Subaru's Return by Death as the ultimate tool for satisfying her endless curiosity.
